BACKGROUND ON CHLORIDE
Chloride is one of the most common anions found in tap water. Chloride can occur naturally in groundwater but the greater concentrations are caused because of run-offs of road salts that make can make their way into drinking water sources.
WHY TEST FOR Chloride?
The SWS Program recommends testing free chlorine in two circumstances:
To conduct dosage testing in project areas prior to the start of a program.
To monitor and evaluate projects for chlorination compliance by testing stored water in households.
